Episode 7 – My Thoughts on Buying a House

The culture of home buying is paramount in this day and age. Besides the fact that shelter is a basic necessity, houses have been glamorized by shows like House Hunters, Sell This House or Fixer Upper to name a few. Besides being totally staged, I feel like these shows gloss over all the intricacies of buying property by putting the focus on whether a house has granite countertops and fancy schmancy bathrooms. Buying real estate, especially at first, is one of the most exciting and terrifying things I’ve ever done. I’m sure most people feel the same way. But it’s also the most expensive and profitable thing I’ve ever done. Despite that, it’s important to get past the emotions of the experience and use hard numbers, details and strategies to make good decisions that will carry through for years into the future and through multiple possible life situations.
